local friendly cash game

Posted by: Glen Richardson on Tuesday, 6 November 2007 01:04:09

Tonight, at fairly late notice, I was invited to a friendly 7 handed cash game with blinds at 10p/20p. I bought in for £30 and made £16 leaving with £46 total. Nothing amazing but I'm happy.

BIG action at the table with pots of over £100, crazy! Due to the ridiculously loose play at the table I decided to play Harrington tight. I played small pots and most of the time I took them down. I made some big lay-down's too such as AK on a KT4 board (he had 2 pair) and JJ on a T675 board (he had the nut straight). I over played Aces twice which I may have got paid off more but I wasn't prepared to let loose players in with drawing hands. Given the game lasted 3 1/2 hours with the average hands per hour at 10 I'm happy with my profit.

I'm very pleased that I'm still able to adjust my game according to the situation and not gamble. I also had a great night too, what a laugh!
